I can’t believe I have forgotten to mention this so far…
As you know, I have stopped drinking coffee and alcohol – for the moment. As pointed out by some readers in the comment of that post – everything in moderation! Which is so true. There are very few things in life (if any) that I will give up forever, but giving something up for a certain amount of time is also really helpful because most things are okay in moderation, include those two!
So, here is the new goal – refrain from these two things for one month. After one month, I will re-evaluate and see what the new goal is. From there, it may be once a week or once a month or back to once a day. I will figure that out when I get there. For now, it is cut them both out for one month. I am excited to see if I can do this!
Here’s where an accountability partner comes in! It is so wonderful to have someone to hold you accountable for your actions! Someone to check in with and say yes I stuck to it or no I didn’t. When you have someone to report to, it can become a lot easier to stick to your goals.
Yesterday, my message to her was simple – I wanted coffee and I didn’t have it. Today, however, was a totally different story. We are only a few days into the challenge and already it is awesome. I woke up this morning feeling completely clear and cognizant. I actually didn’t want coffee at all! So I sent her a message and let her know.
Here was her response:
“Yay good for you Lola! Keep it up! Super proud of you!”
In only a few moments, she made my day completely better and completely encouraged me!
If you’re tackling something right now, I highly encourage you to get an accountability partner ☺ the benefits are enormous!
